Rachel Chertock, L.Ac., M.S. is a California Licensed Acupuncturist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She earned her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Rachel’s approach combines the principles of East Asian medicine with an understanding of the many physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that can affect health. Her clinical experience includes pain and musculoskeletal conditions, stress and anxiety, sleep disorders, women’s health, digestive concerns, chronic health conditions, and overall wellness. Treatments may incorporate acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and individualized lifestyle and self-care recommendations.

A significant part of Rachel’s career has focused on behavioral health, addiction, trauma, and complex patient care. She received specialized training in auricular acupuncture through the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic and the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol and has spent more than 15 years providing acupuncture within multidisciplinary residential treatment settings in the Los Angeles area. In these environments, she has worked alongside psychiatrists, therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as part of an integrated approach to patient care.

Rachel’s early professional experience also included work within UCSF Radiation Oncology and the Division of General Internal Medicine, as well as a clinical acupuncture internship at the Davies Stroke Center in San Francisco. These experiences helped shape her longstanding interest in collaborative and integrative healthcare

Over the course of her career, Rachel has continued advanced study in pain and orthopedic medicine, pharmacology and herb-drug interactions, oncology, behavioral health, trauma, and the treatment of medically complex patients. Her goal is straightforward: to provide thoughtful, individualized acupuncture care while helping patients better understand and participate in their own health.
